INNOVATIVE WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR TO RECEIVE Glassboro—The Greater Glassboro Chamber of Commerce will present its inaugural Business Leader Award to local businesswoman and philanthropist Theresa DiVietro during a special award luncheon on Wednesday, June 23. Chamber members, local business people and friends are invited to attend this event, to take place at 12:00 p.m. at Italian Affair Restaurant (900 Delsea Drive North, Glassboro). The cost for the luncheon is $20 per person and includes entrée, beverage and gratuity. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the charity of DiVietro’s choice, the Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester County. Tickets may be purchased at the door, but the courtesy of an email response is requested as space is limited (info@glassborochamber.com). “Theresa DiVietro epitomizes the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership that will be the hallmark of a successful redevelopment program in Glassboro,” said Karal Corradetti, President of the Greater Glassboro Chamber of Commerce. DiVietro owned and operated Innovasion and Venuto’s in Glassboro, and has also been active in the Borough’s Main Street and Economic Development Boards. She and her husband Larry renovated the old bank building at the corner of Main and High Streets in downtown Glassboro several years ago, making it the new home of Land Dimensions Engineering. The initiative kick-started Theresa’s efforts to contribute to business development in Glassboro. A dedicated philanthropist, DiVietro currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester County. It is the latest in a string of efforts to benefit the Gloucester County community. She is also committed to mentorship for women entrepreneurs, and this March hosted dozens of regional businesswomen for a luncheon to mark Women’s History Month. The Greater Glassboro Chamber of Commerce initiated the Business Leader Award as a service to its growing membership. “The award allows us to recognize innovation, collaboration, leadership and service to the business community and the community at large,” said Corradetti. ‘I can think of no more deserving recipient of our inaugural award than Theresa DiVietro.” More information on the Greater Glassboro Chamber of Commerce services and the Business Leader Award Luncheon is available by emailing info@glassborochamber.com or visiting www.glassborochamber.com. Glassboro Public Library Branch of the Gloucester County Library System is offering a Summer Reading program to the children of our community to encourage them to read for pleasure. Participation in this program will also help them maintain and improve their reading skills and increase their general knowledge. The Summer Reading program theme for 20010 is Make a Splash. Read! We are looking forward to a fantastic and exciting summer. With your help, it will be even better! To add to the fun and to create a sense of challenge that will keep kids reading, we offer incentives and prizes at various special events during the summer. Our limited budget allows us to purchase supplies and a few prizes. With your help, we can be sure that all the children who participate will receive something special. We appreciate any donation you wish to make. Possible donations include items to give away as prizes, coupons for free or discounted food or services, snack foods for programs, or gift certificates. We will be sure to mention your company in the publicity for the program. Last year more than 300 children and their families participated in the Glassboro Public Library Summer Reading program. With your help, we hope to reach even more children. If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact our Youth Services Coordinator, Jerry Winslow. She may be reached at 856-881-0001 or via email at jwinslow@gcls.org. We look forward to working with you as our community partner for the Glassboro Public Library Summer Reading program. Thank you in advance for your help and support. What's Important to You? Let us know what issues and topics we should be talking about to meet the needs of your business!
